I will continue to update how well this works long-term. LONG CORD!
Iâm not totally sure how well this grounding sheet works yet, but Iâve set it up across my couch since thatâs where I spend most of my time. A longtime friend of mine uses a grounding sheet on his bed and swears by it, so Iâm hoping Iâll see some benefits tooâI just need to be more consistent about using it.Today I actually started feeling sick, so Iâm planning to use this sheet all day and night to see if it makes any difference. Iâm middle-aged and in college, so Iâm on my phone or laptop a lot. I also sleep on the couch because I gave my bedroom to my older sonâwe live in a pretty small house. The couch is old leather, and while Iâve made it comfy, I do get sore sometimes depending on how I sleep. So Iâll be using this grounding sheet during both the day and night and will update if I notice any changes. This one is made by a reputable brandâGayaâand if anyoneâs going to make a grounding sheet that actually works, Iâd trust them. The sheet comes with a very long grounding cordâat least 15, maybe even 20 feet! Itâs thin and flexible, not cheap-feeling, but itâs definitely long enough to be a trip hazard if you donât secure it. On a bed, be sure you have enough slack to tuck the sheet securely under the mattress and think through the cord placement carefully, especially if you move around in your sleep. The cord plugs into the end of the sheet using a flat connector, which is nice and unobtrusive. But if someone kicks the sheet up in the middle of the night, it could pull on the cord, so it might be worth securing the extra length somehowâmaybe tying it up or even stapling it along the bottom of a bed frame if youâre using one. I honestly think the cord could be shorter or thicker for durability, but maybe the thinness helps with flexibility. For couch use, this sheet reaches across the entire cushion from back to front almost perfectly. If I were using it on a bed, Iâd probably position it under my upper back or hips.See my photos for how much cord there isâI bundled it all up to give a better idea.Iâll update this review if I notice any improvements in sleep, soreness, or anything else!

Still experimenting
I’ve been looking at grounding mats for years, so I was really excited to get this one. It came in nice box, with a lovely little note from the manufacturer. It was easy to set up – simply snap one end of a cable to the mat, then put the other end of the cable into the ground of a nearby socket. I put it on the bed the night we got it. Hubby had no interest in the mat, so I put it on the bed lengthwise from the head to the foot of the bed on my side, plugged it in, and was eager to try it out that evening. The directions recommend direct contact with the mat, so I put it on top of the sheet. When I got into bed that night, I didn’t like the texture of the mat under me – my sheets are high quality and soft, and the mat was more like a 200 thread count sheet in the way it felt against my skin. But I was game to give it a try anyway, so curled up and went to sleep. This is where it gets disappointing and maybe a bit weird. For background, I have an injury on my foot that requires a cortisone injection about twice a year. I’m not sure if its because I’d just gotten the injection last week, or it’s just a coincidence, but about 1 AM that night, I woke up because my calf and foot were cramping up – like really flexing- both painfully and uncontrollably. This has never happened before. I can’t recall ever having leg or foot cramps until that first night using the mat. So I naturally connected the two things – I know correlation doesn’t necessarily mean causation, but I also know to go with my gut, and my gut said it was the mat making my leg go all weird. After getting up, drinking some water and stretching, I took the mat off the bed for the rest of the night. I was able to sleep, and no more cramping. The next night I was a bit leary of the mat, but wanted to give it a fair shot, so I put it under the sheet this time instead of on top. I woke up again in the middle of the night, this time without any cramping, but with a weird tingling in my legs. It was like restless leg, but different – my legs just felt…well, wrong. I unplugged the mat this time, and fell asleep to no further problems. I’m thinking grounding in this way isn’t for me – but I’m not giving up just yet. I am going to try it in the recliner and see if grounding for a little time before bed is better than all night. I’ll update my review once I’ve experimented a bit more. I am not sure how to rate this – it feels unfair to take stars away as the product seems like it is functioning as it should, was packaged very nicely, and seems like a quality product – it may just be that it’s not for me. So I am giving it four stars for those reasons, and not five due to the way the fabric feels against the skin.
