Comfortable & worth the money
I was a little hesitant when purchasing this mattress. It has mixed reviews, but I am glad I tried it out! Super comfortable and it inflated to the correct thickness of 4.5inches! Very comfortable to sleep on excited for my company to try it out!

not the best not the worst
bought to replaace a – i don’t know how old- sofa mattress. the couch this went in is probably from the 70’s. found the couch in a thrift store – the couch is in great shape. the mattress was sad – so sad. i really wanted an innerspring mattress. but could not find one with good reviews. so went with this one. mattress arrived well packaged and in a timely fashion. the price is fair enough. it did take longer than i expected to fully fluff up.it was 10-14 days before it was fully fluffed. the corners did not fluff up completely. i mean they are like 90% there just not as thick as the rest of the mattress. but i can live with that. we only use the sofa bed to actually sleep on here and there. maybe once or twice a month we pull it out to snuggle and have a movie night. and it is wayyyyyyyyyyy better than the mattress it replaced. it is maybe an inch or less shorter than the old mattress. width wise it fits perfectly. the main reason i wanted to put in a new mattress was for the sitting. with the old mattress sitting on the sofa was quite saggy. now – it is wonderful. the difference is like night and day. there are not a whole lot of options out there for sofa bed mattress. now a days they just want ya to toss the furniture and get a new one. but i do not like that mind set. i say repair and patch until ya can not repair or patch no more. take good care of what you have. yes i pd more for this mattress than i did for the sofa. but with good care this sofa and the mattress will last me many many yrs. and overall i pd less for this sofa and mattress than i would a new sofa with bed. overall i am quite happy with this purchase.

Second review
I left a poor review with this company earlier due to their lack of communication. Due to severe back problems, the mattress did not work for me. I contacted the company twice and didn’t hear anything back. After leaving a bad review, they contacted me and corrected the problem. Better late than never! I do believe the mattress would be very comfortable for someone without the back issues I have.

Great sofabed mattress. Would also be a great mattress topper, except sofabeds are shorter than a full-size bed.
A very nice mattress, but a few caveats:It might be a bit wider than your couch’s old spring mattress. Or maybe it’s that foam bulges more than an innerspring when flexed. With a waterproof cover and sheets on it, I have to be more careful that they don’t get caught in the mechanism when opening or closing.My couch has a fabric pad (canvas sheet) supporting the cushions, and when the bed is open, it supports the lower third of the mattress (your knees and feet). So I don’t feel the bar at the 1/3 point much to begin with. But I feel it less — just a tiny bit if I focus on it — than I did with the old mattress.This has a velour-like cover that zips to be fully removed. However, the attached tag says that both the mattress and the foam should be “spot-cleaned” only — no washer or dryer. As for sinking in or heat, my place is air conditioned and I’m reasonably slim, so no complaints there. I have a thin waterproof-fabric/fill pad on it, which might also regulate heat a bit? As an occasional side-sleeper, I sink just enough and don’t bottom out.My only complaint is that it’s made in China. I had planned to buy a second, similar one (that one made in the US) to use as a topper on my own bed, but then realized that a full-size mattress is 3 inches longer than this sofabed mattress. If one of them made a 75-inch version, I’d buy it in a minute. This one I suppose, because it’s gel.Just the same, I put the old mattress back in the sofabed for awhile and tried sleeping on this, as a topper for an inexpensive, fairly firm innnerspring mattress, all on a box spring firmed up with some boards. The result is great, if a bit jiggly overall. And apparently it’s not so odd an idea — the bottom of the cover has non-slip beads, which makes sense for use on a mattress, no sense for use on raw sofabed springs. (Maybe other sofabeds have fabric? Or this is marketed elsewhere as a topper?) Unfortunately, Classic Brands doesn’t state the actual specs of the foams in this and has not responded, so I have no idea how to replicate the results with another product that’s meant to be a topper.Anyway, my house guest mentioned that the mattress was very comfortable when used as intended — in the sofa.

We have purchased the double size memory foam mattress about three weeks ago now for our fold out couch. So far we have been very pleased with the purchased. It is a very good quality mattress and, although it arrived tightly packaged in a roll and I thought that it would never be the promised 4″, within 10-20 minutes of opening it got its shape. We are definitely much happier with this mattress than with the Sears replacement mattress ( wholeHome®/MD Better Quality Sofa Bed Tight-Top Foam Replacement Mattresses for $199 plus shipping and taxes, which came to be almost $260).I know that this is not the place to give a review on the Sears mattress, but to anyone who is looking at both (this one from Amazon and the Sears), I would recommend this one. We had two Sears mattresses within a month (one was the original purchase, the second one was the replacement of the original). The original was the wrong size (54″ instead of 52″ as advertized) and much thicker (close to 5″ than 4″, which makes a big difference in the fold out couch). So we had to return the original and get a replacement. The replacement was thinner (close to 4.3″) although the same length, but what really kicked us off is that within a week we could feel the middle bar in the couch! Within a week! I was very disappointed with the mattress, so we got this one from Amazon, which also turned out to be cheaper. And so far (three weeks of sleeping on it every night) we are very happy with it.One other thing about the Sears mattress that really made me upset, is that I tried to leave my review on Sears website, but after writing the review and submitting it, I got a response from Sears that my review doesn’t meet their on-line guidelines!! To note that by no means I was disrespectful in my review, I just wrote the truth. I guess the Sears doesn’t like to have the truth published….So, this mattress is firm enough, but not too soft to feel the middle (upper) bar of the couch. It is also assumes the shape of your body and distributes the weight evenly. The only thing that I was not happy about with this mattress was the odor when I opened it. It is smelly for sure. But within a week of not closing the mattress and letting it air out, there is no smell.Sorry for a long review. Hope somebody finds it useful.

I was extremely pleased with this mattress for my Sofa Bed. My existing sofa bed was a bit older and i was concerned that I would not be able to find a sleeper sofa bed mattress. I was very pleased that this mattress was perfect! The mattress is beautiful, it fits and folds in the sleeper sofa bed and it is very comfortable! The packaging was brilliant and arrived in a timely manner. It is really nice replacement sofa bed mattress. Really firm support and not hot as advertised. Way better than original one. Now we have a really nice sleep . Also it folds nicely not create extra tension for the frame when closing even with bedding. It is really nice for 1 person or 2 persons average weight but still not so good if 2 heavy people use this bed It deeps down in the middle and create some discomfort. Than need something more firm.

The mattress never expanded to 4.5 inches. I think it was just short of 4 inches after being left out flat for 3 days. I used it anyway and have been using it in a hide-a-bed for 7 months. It’s more comfortable than the mattress that came with the bed, however that is a low bar. I can still feel the bar from the bed through the mattress though. I think I may just by a mattress foam topper and see if that does the trick.

Donât get me wrong: this is a comfortable mattress when put on top of another mattress. But if this is the only mattress to put in a sofa bed, you will feel the metal bars of the frame through the mattress. As a mattress topper, this is excellent! As a stand alone mattress, Iâm not sure I would buy it again.
