    How to fix leaks
I haven’t used this mattress yet, but I have patched many leaks in this type of mattress. Linda B complained that, being deaf, she could not hear a pin hole leak. Linda, none of us can hear a pin hole leak! That’s why we either put the mattress in a tub of water and look for bubbles, or apply a soap or detergent solution and watch for the leak to blow soap bubbles. There is a product made just for this purpose called Snoop; plumbers swear by it and say that its performance can’t be duplicated. Put a pin in the hole to mark the location while you rinse and dry the mattress; it won’t make the patch any less effective.Another way to find a leak is to moisten your hand and hold it near a suspected leak. You may then feel the leak as a cold spot on your hand as the air blows at the moisture.I use a general-purpose adhesive called Seal-All which you can purchase on Amazon. It sticks very well to vinyl, unlike many adhesives. No sheet vinyl patch material is needed for pinhole leaks, just the adhesive.E6000 adhesive, also on Amazon, says that it sticks to vinyl but I haven’t tried it yet. It has the advantage that you can buy a pack of several small 5.3 mL tubes if you are an infrequent user, rather than buying a big tube which will go bad a while after being opened. You just have to decide, in your particular case, whether a big tube would be a waste because it goes bad or small tubes are wasteful because they cost more per ounce of glue.By the way, when you use glue in a tube always wipe the threads of the tube before you replace the cap so that the cap doesn’t get glued on to the tube. This is very important and makes the unused glue remaining in the tube last much, much longer. You may want to use acetone (pure acetone nail polish remover) or another solvent to clean the threads or any spills. I’m not sure what the best solvent is to use for the 2 types of glue I mentioned, but my 2 guesses are acetone or lacquer thinner. In the case of a large tear that you could put a finger through, you can apply a patch from the inside and it will be more durable than a patch on the outside because it won’t be fighting the air pressure, the air pressure will be pressing it towards the material. I have done this with duck tape and with Johnson & Johnson old-fashioned cloth first-aid tape, which I believe is a form of duck tape. You can apply another patch to the outside to help keep the edges of the material from snagging.Duck tape is tape made out of cotton duck fabric. For taping ducts you need something different.

    Very comfortable
I found this mattress to be extremely comfortable. The size is adequate for a tall person, and this was very important to me. I used it with a cotton cover on the upper surface and that was a good way to smooth out the top so that it is level, and keep your sleeping temperature comfortable.

Had to replace my 20 year old Coleman twin air mattress!
20 years ago I bought a Coleman twin air mattress for my teenage son to use occasionally. I stored it in a Gitano bag with sheets and the pump for easy use. Recently I began using it as my primary bed as I was cleaning out my house to sell. On the next-to-last night in that house, it sprung a leak. I immediately replaced it with another Coleman air mattress. A 20-year life is not too bad!I’ve also had multiple fancy (other brand) air beds with the built-in pumps. Multiple, because they just don’t last like a Coleman.

    pump is external
Jiust a heads up, because despite the picture showing an external pump that I should have noticed lol, this mattress does NOT have the very convenient pump actually inside the unit like my old one. That is the only reason I gave it a 3. It is a very comfortable mattress, sits high up above the ground, and did not deflate during the night. If I had looked closer, I would have searched for the exact same mattress made by COLEMAN that has the air pump and cord right in the mattress.

    Durable, Comfortable Air Mattress
We use these air mattresses year-round in a rural cabin that isn’t heated year-round. We avoid upholstery, padding, etc. In the event we get mice. The mattress is comfortable, quiet, and durable. It took a forgotten screwdriver in a back pocket to finally put a hole in one causing its replacement with a new model of the same.I sleep on this exact mattress about 50 nights a year, and find it perfectly suitable once you find your “right” inflation level.

It started to fail after a few weeks and a few uses.
The glue inside the mattress failed shortly after I got it. At those spots, the mattress bubbled up and was no longer level. I would not recommend this product because of how quickly it failed.

    What it should be.
First, I inflated this for a couple days and left it in my garage because they say to inflate it for a bit to allow it to stretch ( it is now printed right on the mattress). Also, it stinks out of the package but after a couple days in the garage it was pretty much gone. I want to enjoy the fresh air of nature not nasty plastic fumes. I camped at one location for a week and only needed to add a little air twice, probably could have even only done once. I have never had an air mattress that held air that good before and I have had many airbeds, including other Coleman brand. Quite a few reviews stated leaks, so you never know; but, many people also let their pets walk on their air mattress. Be wary of borrowing an air mattress to someone with a dog or cat, at least if you want one that holds air when you get it back.

I love the Coleman Air Mattress! It’s easy to set up, holds air very well throughout the night, and features a fantastic quick seal that keeps air from escapingproviding a comfortable night’s sleep.Overall, I highly recommend the Coleman Quick Bed Single to anyone looking for a reliable and comfortable air mattress!Cons: The mattress smells a lot. However, the smell goes away after about 5 days. And it makes noise. This is a characteristic of air mattresses, but it seems to make a lot of noise.

Easy to inflate. The air valve is a good design. I had the mattress inflated for 4 days and it stayed inflated without leak. The plush top makes it very comfortable.
