Bed in a box
Love this bed came in. A box took a couple of days to deflate insufficient kind of drove me crazy. But so comfortable was well worth the weight. And under 300 dollars, you cannot beat that. Highly recommended

Not what I expected
When I opened the mattress I let it air out for a week. The mattress still does not lay flat. It has lumps in it. Its too soft and feels like it sinks when you lay on it.

If you’ve read my reviews over time, you know I’m nothing but honest when sharing the results of my tests, and it’ll be the same with this one. The Flash Furniture Capri Comfortable Sleep 13 Inch Euro Pillow Top Hybrid Pocket Spring Mattress, was something I was looking forward to after suffering through a much-too-firm “firm” rated mattress. So this time I chose this “medium” rated model and hoped it would give my back a much needed rest.It didn’t.First off, this thing is heavy and unwieldy. Its best to use two people when handling this beast so that you don’t overwork yourself. As always, I waited for the entire time (72 hours), to elapse before I used it. At first, it seemed to feel good as I drifted off to sleep, but upon awakening, I felt a dull pain in my lower back that I’d only had when trying out the “firm” rated model from before.There just isn’t much “give” in this thing, and even after I added a soft mattress topper, all that did was spread the firmness all around my body. In short, this mattress is just uncomfortable for me, and not one I would care to sleep on again. If you like your mattress to feel as if you’re sleeping on a rock, then the Flash Furniture Capri Comfortable Sleep 13 Inch Euro Pillow Top Hybrid Pocket Spring Mattress, is the one for you. As for me, I’ll have to give this one a pass.

Let it decompress!
If you’re impatient like I am, your first inclination is going to be to unwrap the mattress, let it “inflate” for an hour, then hop on it to see how it feels. I can tell you that this mattress is NOT the mattress to test in such a manner. I’ve had other bed-in-a-box mattresses that haven’t needed much more than a few hours to be perfectly useable, but I would wait at least 24 hours to use this one. The instructions state 24-72 hours, which I thought was excessive, but it did indeed continue to improve for those 3 days.The first 24 hours it felt cheap, the foam comfort layer is seemingly not attached to the pocketed springs, but without it being fully decompressed, it almost wanted to float. I was nervous that it was going to stay that way, but thankfully it didn’t. Oddly enough, during the first couple of days, it seemed to be much softer and less supportive than it is now. Again, I was a bit nervous about that as I would have expected it to continue to get even softer, but I was pleasantly surprised when it firmed up considerably.I’m 5′ 11″ and weigh 160 lbs, my girlfriend is 4′ 11″ and 120 lbs. We both find the bed to be comfortable and provide great support. It doesn’t sink like a full memory foam mattress does, nor does it have a tendency to hold heat. If you roll over, it doesn’t try to suck you back in either. As expected, it does sink our hips in a little if we are spooning, though not excessively so. I should note that it’s currently laying on slats directly on the ground, so it is more firm and supportive than if you were using it on a slatted frame.On the old mattress, we both had hip pain due to the lack of support. Neither of us are experiencing that anymore, though my girlfriend did say her upper back and shoulders are a little more sore than normal. We are hoping that she just needs to adjust to the bed for a few weeks, but we’ll see.Overall I am very pleased with the bed for the price. Mattress technology has improved drastically in past couple decades and decent quality no longer has to cost a fortune. The only question will be the longevity!

Exceeded expectation for the price
This Flash Furniture Capri Comfortable Sleep 13 Inch Euro Pillow Top Hybrid Pocket Spring Mattress (that’s a mouthful) replaced a guest bedroom Beautyrest mattress that has held up well because it’s not heavily used, but it’s definitely past its expiration. I’ve had full spring mattresses and full memory foam mattresses but this is my first hybrid so I wasn’t sure what to expect, at the very least I didn’t expect the bed in a box style given it has springs but here it is.Unlike memory foam which fluffs up in hours you really want to give this hybrid mattress the requisite 48-72 hours to fully expand and for the layers to sort themselves out. Once that’s done you’re met with a surprisingly comfortable mattress that has the best of a spring mattress and memory foam, the former providing good structural support and a certain level of firmness while the latter has some amount of give and the inherent motion control of memory foam. I tend to sleep in the same spot overnight so body impressions develop quickly with spring mattresses which is why I’ve graduated to memory foam. However they lack a certain firmness and my wife doesn’t like the sinking feeling. I think this hybrid mattress addresses that to some extent with the improved structural firmness and limited sink which I’m guessing is due to the springs. I’ve slept on it a few nights to fully suss it out and I’m happy to report no body impressions or lower back or neck pains.For the price of this mattress I’m very impressed by the comfort and quality of material, it seems like a steal. When it’s time to replace other mattresses I’m definitely going to keep Flash Furniture in mind.
