It is not a memory foam. Its a basic egg crate foam. Not bad if your out for just any foam. But not for those people that like memory foam material.

I got this for my son to use, and was very happy with the thickness and comfort he has sleeping on this. The cover is soft enough to sleep on, although we use a sheet over the top and tuck it into the corner straps underneath. It’s a little narrow which is why I chose my son for this mat, but the thickness of the pad keeps him from feeling like he is sleeping on the floor. When he is done, he is able to roll it up and put it away easily. It’s a really nice camping mattress and we are happy with this product.

This 4-inch-thick camping mattress is 72 inches long and 24 inches wide providing a generous and comfortable sleeping pad. The mattress has a removable cover that can be machine washed to keep fresh and clean. The bottom of the mattress cover has rubber dots that keep this mattress secure when used on a smooth surface.The mattress rolls up for easy storage and is equipped with a storage strap to keep the mattress in a roll during storage. This mattress is perfect for car camping and is not suitable for backpacking. The mattress is a decent value and is much more comfortable and durable compared to a camping air mattress. The thick foam padding also keeps you warmer at night as it serves as good insulation from the cold ground.This mattress is also useful as a floor mattress for adults and kids for a sleepover and can be used as an exercise mat. This mattress has many potential uses and is easy to roll up and store.

Covered in layers of plastic when shipped—original description stated memory foam—it is not
I requested this camping pad because the originial description posted when I ordered it stated that the pad was memory foam, not egg shell, but the seller has since changed its page to remove memory foam from the product description. Overall, the egg shell mattress is OK and provides a decent amount of cushioning and firmness. It is not as firm as memory foam, however, which I specifically wanted and thought I was ordering. I deducted one star for this issue.Perhaps there are advantages to egg shell foam in that it may not squish into a body specific shape, but I do wonder about longevity of the product. I struggled to reroll the mattress, and still wish it were more compact.Beware that this mattress comes wrapped with an extraordinary amount of plastic: 4 layers! Yet, there is absolutely no reason for all the plastics, and it is environmentally irresponsible to swath the mattress in layer after layer of single use plastic. If you care about such things — I do — then be forewarned. I deducted two stars because of the wasteful use of plastic.Final word is that I cannot offer a solid recommendation for this rollup mattress based on my experiences to this point.

Foam Camping Mattress Pad
This mattress pad is perfect for camping. I even used it in the living room when I had company over and laying it on the rug/carpet makes it so kids can play and lay down while adults can comfortably sit on the floor as well. It is even convenient if you have someone sleep over and don’t have a spare bed. The padding is great and it feels super comfortable. It’s a good value for the price.

Very bulky…
I wish I’d copied the description when I ordered it back in March. I ordered this thinking it was a memory foam mattress but it’s not. This is just a simple egg crate mattress pad with a great cover and, in my opinion, not worth over $70. The pictures of it rolled up are also misleading as this thing is HUGE. This would take up the majority of the car space to bring camping.
