How does Naturepedic make its crib mattresses waterproof? We coat an organic cotton fabric with an eco-polymer made from non-GMO sugarcane. This results in an easy-to-clean surface material that is truly waterproof, extremely durable, and so safe it actually meets food contact standards. The best part is that it wipes clean with regular soap and water.

A waterproof surface is the first step towards a healthy and hygienic sleep environment and is essential for preventing urine, spit-up and other messes from penetrating inside the mattress. Once inside, these fluids can wreak havoc, growing a garden harmful substances. However, nearly all crib mattresses are waterproofed with either vinyl or water-repellent treatments, both of which have serious chemical concerns.

Best mattress!
Weâve bought this mattress for both of our kiddos. Itâs waterproof so holds up great to spills or accidents. Comfortable enough for my kids to sleep on as babies and toddlers. Definitely worth the investment considering how much time small children spend on their mattress, the materials are important!

Awesome Mattress
No funny smells! Organic, comfortable, breathable (our little one 1 1/2yr old definitely sweats 95% less on this mattress) he runs warm at night like me and I’ve notice a dramatic difference. Definitely highly recommend.

Big rip off
I’ve never given such a low review but im truly very upset and disappointment. Be prepared for your baby to be sleeping on a rock that retains no heat…your baby will be waking up at night cold as ice.I can’t figure out why the high reviews…I feel like I got a very cheap product. I ordered this while pregnant and until now my baby has slept in a bassinet on top of the mattress. She is 7 months and has outgrown the bassinet but was always so snuggly and warm in it and slept amazingly. She just started sleeping directly on this so called mattress.First of all it is not light weight.It feels like a cheap, heavy bale of hay.The “hard” side is literally like a rock or concrete.The “soft” side feels like it has a giant air bubble inside when I push down on it and is higher in the middle and slopes down to the sides.I have a soft, organic mattress topper over it but it is still hard as a rock and retains no heat. My baby wakes up cold as ice whereas she always used to sleep through the night since she was one month old.I researched for months before purchasing this mattress and paid way too much for this to feel like such a cheap knock off.Wish I could return it but of course it is past the window.Edited to add: my baby finally started sleeping through the night again after I put this 2-inch thick memory foam mattress topper on it.
