Mattress protector provided the highest level of protection!
Last year we purchased a new mattress. We’ve never paid this much for a mattress, but figured we were worth it. Obviously we wanted to protect our investment. We did A LOT of research, hours of reading customer reviews, and online lists of “best mattress protectors”. We were drawn to tencel because it’s natural, soft, waterproof, and dust mites hate it!The price was a little steep, but the mattress it is covering costs way more, so we didn’t want to cheap out. I wash it every 4 months or so on a a delicate cycle and the lightest dryer setting. It’s held up very well with no issue.Recently it was put to the test. There was an incident involving blood that what not noticed until the morning. The saturation was intense to the top sheet and the mattress protector. After a quick search of the internet on how to treat, we sprayed it down with hydrogen peroxide. After 15 minutes, not much had happened. The next suggestion from the internet was white vinegar. With a rag and a generous amount of vinegar, we doused the stain on the sheet and on the mattress protector. Keep in mind they were both still on the bed, as we needed to head of to work and did not have the time. We left it like that, in hopes that the vinegar would keep it from setting until we returned. That evening we stripped the bed and washed the linens and protector. That’s when we discovered the condition of the mattress. There it was…in pristine condition! Not even a faint aroma of vinegar on it! Well worth the purchase. Now, there is a faint stain on the protector, but we didn’t use any bleach or anything when we washed it, for fear of ruining it. The stain is light and is undetectable, even through white sheets. If we were able to wash it when discovered, we feel the outcome may have been different.

Perfect fit and very comfortable
We have two different mattress protectors already. One is a fully zip-able, hypoallergenic envelope for a thin top pad we have on a pricey bed in the city. Itâs great that itâs hypoallerginc, but it feels like plastic and we can feel it underneath the sheets. On our other bed, we had a mattress protector we found that would fit its deep sides (14â, instead of the typical 12â). It had 2 downsides: it was a bit too big (you could see lumps under the fitted sheet), and it felt a little plastic-y. So we were very happy to discover this mattress protector. From what I can tell, the top layer is composed of two layers: the upward facing side is an absorbent cotton-like material; the downward-facing side is a synthetic waterproof membrane. I tested it immediately with a glass of waterânothing came through. There are some reviews here that said that liquid came throughâI initially thought the water had penetrated, because the bottom membrane feels cold and clammyâbut it just always feels that way. I put a paper towel on the bottom side, and no water had come through. The other thing we love about this is that it fits our mattress very snugly, so no wrinkles show through the fitted sheet. Also, the top layer is quite thin, so we donât really feel the protectorâwe can enjoy the feel of our sheets and our soft mattress below.

Not waterproof at all, for us.
Well, I purchased two of these for my two girlsâ twin size mattresses when it was time to transition them from a smaller baby/toddler bed. Very much wanting to reduce waste and promote natural materials in our home as much as possible, we skipped toddler beds altogether and invested in high quality organic twin size mattresses, with the hope that they will be able to comfortably use this mattress for many years to come.I looked everywhere for organic mattress protectors that would ensure good care of our mattresses through the inevitable accidents that come with the toilet training years.I am very disappointed to report that they have offered seemingly no protection against accidents. We now have both mattresses with multiple stains and I am just devastated and so disappointed. I believe this is one of the first and only times I have felt compelled to leave an Amazon review, but I just felt that I needed to share. I am so very disappointed by this.

Waterproof and non toxic! Will be buying more
This is great and not crinkly sounding! I wanted to test it before buying more so I poured water on it and it beaded up like I expected. So I pushed the water into it and it absorbed into the cotton layer but nothing leaked onto the paper towel I put underneath it. Will be buying more!

Quiet and secure
Fits well under my daughter’s sheet and is nice and quiet. Haven’t had to clean it yet so not sure about absorption and ease of clean but so far am pleased.

Well made
I bought this mattress protector based on recommendations from the AVOCADO mattress I purchased for my 5 year old. It seems well made and is waterproof. I haven’t actually tested the waterproof on it yet, but it doesn’t make a loud noise and it doesn’t seem particularly hot. We live in tropical climate so keeping cool is a must. Overall, very happy with the product.

Not what I liked
This may be good if resistance to water is a priority, but to me it felt cold and like sleeping on plastic. It was not really soft like cotton. Purchased one that is cotton and am much more satisfied. This is really a matter of personal preference so I would not discourage use of this product. It is not bulky and can be washed easily in a home washer and does not really need to be put in a dryer.

It covered my Queen Size 14.5 inch mattress beautifully, from corner to corner. With no extra tugging, stretching, or pulling needed. It fits nice and smoothly. No wrinkles! It fits under the bottom corners very nicely too. I love the pure white color. It is very silky. I love how thin it is! I can still feel the contours of the top of my mattress. There was no chemical smells of any kind. No need to pre-wash. Yes, I would highly recommend this product. I gave it five (5) stars.
