Weirdly comfortable
It’s admittedly a bit early to review this mattress, having only slept on it for a week now. But I wanted to share my thoughts since I had initially purchased a Modway and returned it to get this mattress.First, I’ll say this – Amazon tells you to give this up to 72 hours to fill up, so I actually called customer service to ask whether you really needed to wait that long. The answer is no – the mattress can fill out in as little as 2 hours (mine sure did), and even if it doesn’t fill all the way right away, it doesn’t hurt it if you sleep on it. So said the folks at Tuft & Needle.Second…This mattress does not immediately feel like the most comfortable thing in the world. The Modway I’d just returned was a memory foam mattress with a cooling gel pad, and when you got into it, it immediately felt super comfy. I could lay on my side and my back and both ways felt phenomenal. But when my wife slept on it, she sank WAY down. And she’d wake up with terrible back pain.So when I set up my new Nod mattress…and tested it out…it felt strangely rubbery. It didn’t feel immediately soft OR firm (they say medium, and I suppose that’s pretty much what it is). It also doesn’t let you sink in – at all. With the memory foam mattress (Modway) I barely felt my wife moving on the other side. With this one, I do kind of feel it – but not as much as you would with an innerspring mattress.Laying on the mattress, again, it doesn’t immediately feel like the most comfortable thing in the world, but both my wife and I have slept incredibly well on it. I wake up feeling refreshed, rested…and no pain for either of us! I sleep on both my back and my sides, in case you’re a side/back sleeper & you’re wondering…It also sleeps MUCH cooler than both my former innerspring mattress and the Modway, which supposedly has some sort of a cooling gel layer. With both of those, I woke up uncomfortably hot at least once or twice during the night. With this mattress, no such issue. So…older women rejoice! No more crazy night sweats on this thing.So…that’s pretty much my experience so far.Here’s a summary:GOOD STUFF:1. don’t feel your partner’s movement as much as on an innerspring mattress, but do feel it a bit more than a memory foam mattress.2. doesn’t get hot – at all. No night sweats ladies!3. wake up feeling refreshed, no aches & pains4. can use it pretty much right away, within a couple of hours – no need to wait 72 hoursNOT SO GOOD STUFF:1. doesn’t “feel” immediately comfy, especially if you’re a side sleeper. Not sure how much that matters since my sleep quality has been amazing so far.2. you do feel a LITTLE bit of your partner’s movement on the bed…then again, my wife has not had to adjust as much on this mattress, so what little movement you would feel is reduced.Overall, I highly recommend this mattress so far. I’ll update in a few months if anything changes.

1.5 year later review.
I have had this 8â mod mattress for a year and a half now. I absolutely love it! I have never had another mattress Iâve liked better. I used to buy $1000+ mattresses from mattress firm and other stores. This was my first time ordering a âbed in a box.â I ordered a couple different ones off amazon and liked this one the best. Amazon was great with retuning the others that didnât work. I got the king size nod and it is true to size and height. When you first get it, it takes a while to expand to itâs full size. After a year and a half it is as good as new and still feels and looks the same. Thereâs NO weird indentions or what my husband and I jokingly call âditchesâ lol. In other words the original form is in no way compromised after using it every night for a year and a half. Both my husband and I love it. Itâs a medium firmness in my opinion. My husband likes a soft bed and I like a firm bed, this was a happy medium. When you lay down it has a little give, but not too much. I have horrible back problems and I sleep so much better on this mattress than I have on any $1000+ serta or what have you. Once upon a time I had a tempurpedic, it was way too hot! This Nod mattress is NOT hot in my experience. Even when I was pregnant and had hormonal sweating this did not make me hot. Iâm a very hot natured person too so itâs very important to me that my mattress doesnât add to that problem! With other memory foam mattresses Iâve had, I had to even change clothes during the night, not fun!! I definitely think the comfort and quality of this mattress is comparable to other high quality expensive memory foam mattresses, if not better! Like I mentioned I had to give away the tempurpedic (spelling?) due to it being way too hot! I would highly recommend this mattress to anyone really. I think it accommodates a lot of people due to its adaptive nature and medium feel. I think a medium firmness suits many different people and situations. Itâs definitely not in any way a hard bed so if you are used to a soft bed, donât let the word medium firmness scare you! I can sleep on a more firm bed (due to my back issues) but this works fine for me even though itâs a little softer! I am a stomach sleeper and my husband is a side and back sleeper. It works well for both of us. He is 220lbs and I am 130lbs and we both love it. Itâs not easy to find a good bed for a stomach sleeper but this one is a winner! I would definitely recommend this to pregnant ladies, or hot sleepers as well! I also think this would work great for a child, toddler or guest bedroom as well. Itâs sure to suit any guest who would come to stay over! Our kids love the bed as well. We eventually are going to order nod beds for their rooms.Oh and also if anyone was wondering I 100% purchased this mattress with MY OWN money and no I am not getting paid for this review or any other type or compensation! This is an honest review of someone who spent their hard earned money on this bed! My father is actually buying one for himself for Christmas because he loves our bed so much! He has lupus and is in the market for a bed that will make him very comfortable!Good luck and remember if it doesnât work out amazon prime is really easy to return it! Just leave the bed outside your door and they come and get it! I hope my review was helpful to someone out there. I know ordering a bed online is hard. Look up some YouTube reviews, they really help!
