    Solid and easy to use!
I ordered this after I returned another bunk bed that wasn’t honest about the weight limit on the listing. This one has a reasonable weight limit, and it feels sturdy! My kid is very comfortable on top, and the futon on bottom is as comfortable as my actual couch, and perfect for curling up to read books together. The futon is easy to switch, and has what looks like a gate lock mechanism, so I’m confident it’s safely held in place when it’s a couch. It did have a couple dents, but nothing that risks the structural integrity, or is even noticable if I’m not looking for it. It does have plastic pieces that hold the metal frame pieces in place, not weight bearing, but this bed is a permanent fixture in this room now. I don’t think we could remove the plastic pieces without damaging them, so unlike his old IKEA loft bed, this isn’t made to be taken apart and moved multiple times easily. Not a problem for us now, but it would have been in the past, so it’s good to know!

    Space saver
Directions were for the most part straight forward but we did put some of the pieces on backwards and have to go back and correct. Helpful tip: don’t tighten bolts fully until completely assembled. We messed up and a bolt was stripped, husband got it out with minimal damage and replaced it with the extra bolt it came with. I will admit that when we first opened the box it was overwhelming, just take it step by step and you will get through it! Rated a star down because it arrived with some dents in a couple pieces, I feel like it could have been packed with better support in the box to avoid this. Overall it came together beautifully. Assembly with 2 people took 4 hours, if we didn’t have errors this probably would have took 3. Love the compact size for my son’s super small room.

    My kids love it!
Great bed! Easy to put together but not all the holes matched up. It was an easy fix though nothing crazy. Thought this was a low rise bed but it’s still fine. My girls love the color! I live the fact that the ladder is bolted to the bed and they can’t move it or snap it off.

The price gets five stars, even with minor flaws.
Please be aware that I am giving this five stars because I have searched in stores and online without finding a bunk bed this inexpensive that has the weight capacity of this one. I have a teen and preteen, so a bed with a 100 lb. weight limit is out of the question. This bed has a 200 lb. top bunk weight limit, so that alone makes it five stars for the price. However, there are a few very minor issues, mostly with the paint job, that might irritate someone who expects perfection at even this rock bottom price. For me, they aren’t enough to deduct points from the product. I did not expect a $1000 bed for $160, so I was fine with the tiny flaws. There are a couple of spots where the paint just didn’t cover well, and they look almost rusty. It’s not the full-on, metal weakening type, but just bare metal, untreated look. They are near the spots the bed joins, so once everything was together, you don’t even see them. The slats apparently rubbed together during shipping, and the paint on them is scuffed; again, it’s minor, and it looks as though it happened during shipping. The slats were the only thing not individually wrapped, so the rubbing isn’t even visible. The bolts do extend from the bed; they aren’t flush with the metal. However, they are rounded and coated, so I don’t see this as a problem, either. They are intended to be that way. One thing that irritated me a little is that one of the slats is bent. That seemed odd, because it’s the only one and they were together in the box, so it seems like it was that way before shipping. It’s not enough to affect the sturdiness of the bed. I put that slat near the head of the bed, so little weight will be on it, just in case. Now for the good parts. This bed is very sturdy, very heavy, and it doesn’t squeak or sway. While it is very tedious to assemble, it is simple and the instructions are great. Everything you need is included in the box. The instructions say you need two people to assemble it, and that it takes two hours. I HIGHLY recommend that you get help with this, if you can. I couldn’t, and I assembled it alone in about an hour, but it was a pain. One warning: the instructions say not to tighten the bolts until the bed is completely assembled, and I cannot stress this too much. DO NOT TIGHTEN THOSE BOLTS UNTIL THE BED IS COMPLETELY ASSEMBLED. I hand-tightened them, and had to take some out a bit, because I had tightened them too much, just with my hands.Update: I bought this in September 2015. In May 2018, it’s still strong and sturdy, though squeaky. It has been a great value for me.

    Great Buy!
I purchased this Bunkbed for my Daughters 10 & 5; at the time of purchase they were 9 & 4. They’ve held up well for the Year we’ve had them. My Daughter’s; Step Daughters and Sons have all slept in these beds! We’ve had no problem with them bending; squeaking; rocking; breaking anything. It’s probably because they also know not to jump on the beds; or act wild and crazy on them. We’ve moved once and they’ve held up well in the move. My Husband and I put them together with no problem and it didn’t take long. We used a power tool. No missing hardware; no dents; no paint chips; it’s the perfect size for us and we’ll probably keep them for awhile. All in all great buy I have no complaints. Comfort sets were also purchased from Amazon; we have Twin over Full.

I think these are affordable bunk beds and if you use everything it comes with to stop movement of the bars and screws they are bang on easy to put up and take down just the same as any new bunk bed after few weeks tighten screws and always check every 6months for the price smashed it would like the option to have them come with mattress also 👍

Great product. Sturdy. Only downfall is the bunch of pieces to put together. We love it.
