It works for our top bunk bed! We like it!
It works nicely. The 4″ is thinner and works for a bunk bed but I wish I would have bought the 6″ but it was not sold for the size I needed here. Either way we are enjoying it on the top of a bunk bed. I wanted something smaller than the rails to prevent falling off and it works!It did not smell out of the package, but let it vent for a few days before using since others said theirs smelled.

Comfortable, but the filling shifts
I was looking for a comfortable shikibuton — not too thick, like U.S. ones — and this fit the bill. Like most futons, you must tend to it to keep it in top shape. This means airing it and shaking it to redistribute the filling.I had a small issue with the product and the seller quickly replaced it. I have no complaints with seller, and I would say to buy with confidence, based upon my experience.

About two or three inches short of a twin
If you aren’t using this as a mattress on a bed and you are short, you probably wouldn’t notice this mattress is missing a few inches in length. It shows on a twin bed however. So i get to stuff a booster cushion I made into the end to give it the appearance of a regular twin.Other than that it is as expected. This is my second and third mattress purchase of this type of cotton batting mattress.I choose these over traditional inner spring for a less electrically amplified sleep and because my children only sleep on natural materials and don’t mind firm beds. I have growing kids who don’t need cheap foam or flame retardants off-gassing while they rest nor do they need magnification of our home’s wifi and existing electrical interference.I think these mattresses are decent, certainly they are heavy and they can be repurposed into new things and reused easily when it’s time to move on.I put dust mite covers around these as they are all natural and will certainly be a beacon for mites without the intervention. I top these with a all natural perforated latex foam topper. This makes these mattresses acceptable for sleeping, cool throughout the night and moisture wicking. My hot sleeper is happy with this combo as is my cool sleeper.Just wish they were full length with more square edges.

as an active oldster, I’d been suffering my own ignorance; sleeping on a memory mattress…the only memory I received was aches from a lousy bed choice: spine alignment and joint issues resulting in poor back posture, sore shoulders/neck and more…this classic cloth futon was an immediate source of relief…bounding outta bed like a young colt now!look out, you fillies ð

The mattress is more like a stuff sack of laundry. They need to fill a full 4 inches all around. It won’t even hold a twin sheet. Put it this way, if you were going into a store you would never walk up to this mattress and say, “yup, that’s exactly what I want.” Let alone pay $160 for it (twin.) And it says it is returnable but they are making me jump through all sort of hoops to do so. Now I am responsible for shipping it back. So sinking at least another $50.00 into a “mattress” that is maybe only worth $50. So now I’m into it for $210. And then they will examine it to determine “if” I get my money back. Yeah, no. Been there, done that. Try an online “real” mattress company, they stand by their product.

Well made and as advertised.
This was purchased to fit a space in the boat I live on as a day bed. This is extremely well-made. Nice thick natural cotton out cover and durable stuffing. This thing will last the apocalypse I think, very comfortable perfect for my application. It exceeded my expectations.
